Apple has responded to reports that the US National Security Agency has developed a system to hack into, and monitor iPhones. It says it has never worked with the NSA and is unaware of efforts to target its smartphones. Germany’s Der Spiegel reported this week that a secretive unit of the NSA makes specialized gear and software to infiltrate and monitor I-phones. The NSA has not commented on the allegations. It says its interest in any given technology is driven by the use of the technology by foreign intelligence targets.
