Just a day after winning her first Australian Open title, Li Na took the championship trophy out for a bit of fun in the sun in Melbourne, posing in front of reporters and fans at the host city's Brighton Beach.
Looking particularly glam in a blue dress, Li smiled for photos while holding the Daphne Akhurst Trophy. The World Number Three then went for a stroll with the silverware in the water, with lots of people on the beach watching on before popping the cork on a bottle of celebratory champagne. Now a two-time major winner, Li says this moment was on her mind, even before the title match against Dominika Cibulkova came to an end.
"When I got the match point, when it was like, she served it was 15-40. I was like, oh, I already think about after I win the match what celebration I should have. But right away, I lose the point, I was like okay, focus now, only one point," Li says.
