Malaysian authorities have held a press conference with an update on their search and investigation. Malaysia's Acting Transport Minister said search efforts continue in the southern and northern corridors while no traces of debris were found in Kazakhstan.

The minister also discussed the satellite data provided by the UK company Inmarsat, which received the last known signals from the missing plane. He said that although this type of data is not normally relied on investigations, it is being used due to the little information and unprecedented challenges of this incident.

The raw data was sent to the US and results of its analysis were announced by Malaysian Prime Minister last Saturday. Relatives of MH370 passengers from various nations were briefed on Thursday night. Hussein said the briefings would continue at the families' convenience.

Malaysia's Minister of Defence and Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein (R) attends a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on March 21, 2014. It was reported that the captain of the missing jet made a phone call just minutes before take-off inside the cockpit. Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, CEO of Malaysia Airlines, said it was under investigation.
