'Despicable Me Minion Mayhem' premieres in Hollywood

Minions, Minions and more Minions have helped Universal Studios Hollywood celebrate the premiere of its new immersive 3D Ultra HD digital animation adventure. It's called "Despicable Me Minion Mayhem", and is also joined by an expansive interactive experience called "Super Silly Fun Land".

Not only have the minions arrived here at Universal Studio, Hollywood, but so have the stars. The yellow carpet has been rolled out to greet the famous fans who get to experience the ride.
Since the release of the first Despicable Me animated movie in 2010, the Despicable Me franchise has become a phenomenon that brings warmth and laughter to people of all ages around the world. At the yellow carpet launch, our camera caught some great moments of the franchise's celebrity fans expressing how excited and surprised they are by this new ride.
"You know I never thought I would be impossible, but I never think it would be turned into a ride at Universal. Looking down the carpet now, it's so much space and it's taken up. It's crazy to think that it's all dedicated to a movie both of us stared in," said Dna Gaier, voice of "Edith", "Despicable Me"
"It's fantastic. It makes our park available to kids of every age. I mean, it's a wonderful ride. It works for the whole family now. So it's great. We knew once we saw it. We have something special. The ride is extraordinary," said Ron Meyer, vice chairman of NBCUniversal.
"Despicable Me Minion Mayhem" is based on the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award-nominated film franchise and it's the creator of the ride Jon Corfino who let us in to the secrets of the creating process.
