The largest ever blue diamond is set to go on sale with a price tag of at least 22 million dollars. Auction house Christie's will put the jewel up for bidding next Wednesday.

Dubbed "The Blue", this magnificent stone is the largest flawless vivid blue in the world, and is estimated to be worth between 22 million and 26 million dollars.

At 13.22 carats, this extraordinary diamond is just one of 260 jewels up for grabs, worth a total low estimate of about 112 million U.S. dollars.

It is a 13.22 carats fancy vivid blue diamond - flawless, which is the biggest flawless fancy vivid diamond ever appeared at auction, said Daniel Struyf, Christie's jewellery specialist.

Dubbed "The Blue", this magnificent stone is the largest flawless vivid blue in the world, and is estimated to be worth between 22 million and 26 million dollars.

"It is an amazing stone because you have to know that 'flawless' means that it has no impurities from the outside nor the inside and in the last 35 years, when it comes to vivid blue diamonds, there are only five stones that were between 10 and 11 carats," Struyf said.

Another unique stone to be sold off on May 14 is the "Ocean Dream", a fancy vivid blue-green triangular-cut diamond ring weighing 5.5 carats and worth at least 7.8 million dollars. Interested buyers can see the exhibition at Christie's in Geneva from Friday to next Wednesday.
