World number one tennis player, Rafa Nadal of Spain, has won a record extending ninth French Open title, beating Serbian second seed Novak Djokovic in Sunday's final.
Djokovic won the first set 6-3, and looked to be in control of nearly every point. But the combination of Nadal finding his range and the heat started to take its toll on Djokovic. And Nadal ended up winning the second, third and fourth sets 7-5, 6-2, 6-4, getting him his 14th Grand Slam title.
The match lasted about three and half hours. This is the third year in a row that Nadal has ended Djokovic's hopes of winning the one Grand Slam he lacks to complete a career Grand Slam. The victory means Nadal will remain the world's number one, and makes him the first man to win five successive titles at Roland Garros.
