It's Day 6 of the World Cup in Brazil, and it began with Belgium defeating Algeria 2-1 in the opening match of Group H.
Scoring started in the 25th minute, when Algeria forward Sofiane Feghouli was dragged down in the area. He calmly slotted the resulting penalty kick to the left of the goalkeeper to give the North African side a surprising 1-0 halftime lead.
But the Belgians battled back in the second. In the 70th minute, substitute Marouane Fellaini scored off a header. And ten minutes later, Dries Mertens, who was also not in the starting line-up, put the Red Devils ahead for good, with a blast from the right side.
