Six people, including four children, have been shot dead in Houston in the US' state of Texas, and another woman was injured. The shooting happened Wednesday afternoon in a residential house in a northern Houston suburb. Two adults and three children were found dead at the scene. Another child died later in hospital.

Police chased and cornered the shooter in his car with armored vehicles in a nearby street. Negotiations continue. Authorities say the shooting may be due to a breakup in the family, but did not say how the victims were related. Police have not released the identities of the suspect or the victims.
