A zoo in southern China says it expects its triplet panda cubs born last month to a giant panda to survive.
Twelve-year-old panda Ju Xiao gave birth to the triplets on July 29. The delivery took around three hours. The zoo said that all of the cubs were in good health.
The survival rate for panda cubs is 95 percent if they are still in good health 15 days after being born. The gender of the panda babies will be known after one month. There is only a one percent chance of a giant panda giving birth to triplets. A giant panda gave birth to three cubs last year, but only two survived.
The zoo said that it plans to show the pandas to the public in around four to five months time.
