Having won the 10m platform competition on Saturday, China's Wu Shengping began her quest for her second gold as she led after the qualifying round in the women's 3m springboard.

China's former NBA star Yao Ming was watching the event.The gold will be decided with the sum score of the preliminaries and the final. Wu took a lead of nearly 20 points after the morning session. The 18-year-old did not try many difficult dives in the final, and a stable performance would see her cruise to gold with 492.05 points. Ganna Krasnoshlyk of Ukraine won silver and the bronze belongs to Loh Zhiayi from Malaysia.

More Chinese success from the Fangshan Archery Field as Li Jiaman claims her second gold medal in Nanjing by beating Frenchwoman Melanie Gaubil 6-5 in the final of the women's recurve individual event.
A busy day in track and field saw plenty of exciting close run action.
In the Men's 800m final, American Marshall Myles just held on to take the gold ahead of Uganda's Geofrey Balimumiti who recorded a personal best.
Myles made a decisive break for the line and looked to be coasting to an easy victory but Balimumiti gave him fight right up to the line.
Myles would hold to take gold on 1 minutes 49.14 seconds.
Kenyan Rosefline Chenpngetich justified her favourite billing for the 2000m steeplechase by recording a season's best time to secure the gold medal.
Chenpngetich broke away from the pack in the final stages and was pulling further and further away at the finish.
Then 17-year-old won the championship on 6 minutes 22.67 seconds.
Hanna Tarasiuk from Belarus recorded a personal best throw of 59.52 metres to win gold in the Women's Javelin.
Tarasiuk's throw was nearly six metres longer than Germany's Fabienne Schonig's silver-medal throw.
Japan's Nagisa Mori took the bronze medal.
In wrestling, DPRK's Ri Seung beat Fatih Aslan of Turkey 9-6 to win gold in the greco-roman 42kg category.
In the 50kg greco-roman category, Ilkhom Bakhromov of Uzbekistan took gold with a shock triumph over Jabbar Najafov from Azerbaijan.
