As more and more Chinese models establish their names at fashion weeks in New York, Chinese designers are also trying their luck.

The bustling Chinese city of Shenzhen is on the scene in the big apple. 15 designers from three fashion brands are displaying their Spring collections at the Lincoln Center.

Local brand Ellassay opens the show with a fashionable mix of black, white & prints, followed by dresses from Lizzy.

Designer Xia Haiping's collection sees a combination of traditional Chinese patterns with modern fabrics.

Another Shenzhen-based designer Wang Tao launches her first self-titled collection, which merges Asian culture with European influences.

"Fashion Shenzhen" is sponsored by the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association and the Shenzhen Economy, Trade and Information Committee. It's bringing the city's fashion corps to New York for the first time.

"We're excited to show Chinese designs here in New York and learn from the best designers from around the world. And I know that western designers also want to expand their brands to China, so it's a two-way street," said Shen Yongfang, president of Shenzhen Garment Industry Association.

In recent years, more and more Chinese designers have brought their fashion creations to New York. And their creative designs have impressed many professionals.

Shenzhen is considered China's hub for innovative designs. And participating in fashion events like New York Fashion Week have opened the doors for communication between local and international designers.
