China's State Archives Administration has released more evidence on its website documenting the scale of the Nanjing Massacre. The transcripts and pictures are the sixth in a seven-part series revealing the crimes against humanity committed by Japanese troops during the invasion period.

Friday's release focuses on the investigations, testimonies and written judgments of the crime. One of the important documents released is the written judgment from the trial against Hisao Tani, a Lieutenant General in the Japanese army and a principal perpetrator of the massacre.

According to the judgment, while Tani's division was stationed in Nanjing, more than 300,000 people were slaughtered. Troops under his command were guilty of numerous atrocities, including murdering, beheading, disemboweling, and gang raping Chinese civilians, as well as burning some to death.

The testimony of massacre survivor Li Xiuying was also released. On December 19, 1937, Japanese invaders rushed into a school and killed the civilians inside. Li was pregnant at the time. And in her document, she recounts how she was stabbed more than 30 times and fell unconscious as she tried to defend herself against being raped.
