British rock'n'roll fans are getting all shook up at a new exhibition in London. It gives personal insight into the life of Elvis Presley, the 'King of Rock'n'Roll', and is thought to be the largest exhibit of its kind on show in Europe.

t's been over 35 years since he died, but for those with Elvis Presley still on their minds there's now another way to get close to 'The King'.

At London's O2, they're launching what's thought to be the largest retrospective of the famed American rock star ever mounted in Europe. There's stage costumes, auto mobiles and even this pool table which Elvis once played on with The Beatles.

"We're here at the O2 and we've brought over 300 items direct from Graceland to be on display here," Elvis Presley's Graceland's director of archives Angie Marchese said. "Basically, it's Elvis from Tupelo, Memphis, to Vegas and back again."

The exhibition couldn't have come at a better time.

January 8th marks Presley's 80th birthday, further proof of his enduring popularity and fame. It charts Presley's meteoric rise to fame, exploring Elvis-mania as it first swept through America and later the world.

This American Eagle jumpsuit was worn in 'Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii', the world's first satellite televised concert. It was seen in 40 countries by over a billion people.

"The American Eagle jumpsuit that Elvis wore in 'Aloha From Hawaii' in January 1973, it was a must to be part of this exhibit especially part of the opening because it is so iconic, even for people that may not be Elvis fans, it is recognisable, people see that jumpsuit, they know; 'Oh, that's Elvis," Marchese said.

While Elvis's music changed pop culture, his movies were often behind some of his biggest musical hits, including songs like 'Love Me Tender' and 'Jailhouse Rock'.

"In the States, Elvis became popular though television, it was his first TV appearances on variety show," Marchese said. "But here in the UK, most people were introduced to Elvis through the movies when 'Love Me Tender' made its debut in 1956. So the Hollywood exhibit actually is probably the one that people are going to be more reminiscent about, including the biggest piece in that exhibit is the car from 'Blue Hawaii', which is the only car that Elvis personally owned that was actually used in one of his movies."

"Elvis at the O2: The exhibition of his life - Direct from Graceland" runs December 12th to August 31st next year.
