After the premiere of the latest installment, a special ceremony was held for the movie's star, Vin Diesel, in Los Angeles.
"In some ways, it's a miracle to come from where I come from and be standing here before all of you, to be honored in this way," he said.
Actor Vin Diesel has already achieved fame through the Fast and the Furious franchise and he was all smiles as he received a new accolade to establish his place in Hollywood.
He got a chance to take part in the famed ceremony of putting his hand and footprints in cement outside of the TCL Chinese Theater IMAX.
A special ceremony was held for the movie's star, Vin Diesel, in Los Angeles. |
In the franchise, Diesel plays Dominic Toretto, a street racer and ex-convict whose most impressive skill set is his ability to use his cars, speed, and smarts during high-octane chases.
The cast of the newest adrenaline-pumping installment, Furious 7, was on hand to watch and cheer for Diesel as he went through the ceremony.
After he finished signing the cement, they happily hugged and congratulated him. His family also attended, posing for pictures with him in the sun by his newly cemented name.
Though it was officially declared Fast and Furious day in the city of Los Angeles, the franchise is a worldwide phenomenon. Diesel just returned from his very first trip to China to meet fans of the movie and he could barely contain his excitement over the recent journey.
"I had always wanted to go to China. In fact, in Fast and Furious 6, we have a very small cameo of China. A scene that takes place in Hong Kong, where we catch up with Han and Gisele. That scene, that takes place in the beginning of Fast and Furious 6, is a wink to the audience that there will be more story to come from China," said Vin Diesel.
Diesel even shared one of his favorite phrases that he learned in Mandarin.
Though he was proud of saying how shy he felt, Diesel wasn't bashful about how much he appreciated the time in China.
"It was good to finally get over there myself and experience it. I got off the plane and I went to The Forbidden City," he said.
"As an artist, it's a very powerful thing to actually stand in such sacred places because those sacred places inspire us beyond what we can comprehend in the moment."
He said, "I'm very fortunate to have been able to go over there and the way that they received me, will always stay with me. China as a country is and was very good to Daddy."
Now that he has officially cemented his hand and footprints outside of the TCL Chinese Theater, it's clear that Vin Diesel's career has moved just as fast and furious as the franchise.
