George Clooney has continued his worldwide promotional tour for Disney's new sci-fi film "Tomorrowland." After a tour that recently took him to China, the actor walked the red carpet in Tokyo with the film's director and cast for its Japanese premiere.

George Clooney greeted fans in Tokyo alongside his wife Amal, before heading onstage to speak to the assembled crowd. He was also joined by co-star Britt Robertson and director Brad Bird on the red carpet.
"Well I think that everyone imagines a future that is better than today, but that's kind of fallen out of fashion in the last 20 or 30 years. We kind of are used to thinking that the future is going to be worse for us than it was when we were younger and we were wondering why that was and why it's changed, because the world had just as many problems 30 years ago as it has today," Bird said.
"But we feel that people have sort of given up on the idea of a better future and we don't think that's maybe the way we should be thinking about it."
Clooney stars as Frank Walker - a former child genius who, in his youth, is afforded a glimpse of a space-age utopia called Tomorrowland while attending New York's World Fair in 1964.
In the present day, Casey, played by Britt Robertson, is handed a badge which, when touched, transports her to the same city.
Pursued by evil androids, Frank and Casey travel through space and time attempting to reach Tomorrowland and confront Hugh Laurie's villainous character Nix.
Clooney explained that "Tomorrowland" is an important film because it has a young girl at its core.
"Again we hope you enjoy the film. We love all the support. We're very proud to be here and we're all very proud to do a film that has and stars young women because it's very important. So all you young women out there, you can save the world," Clooney said.
The cast of "Tomorrowland" has been promoting this film in Asia. They greeted Chinese fans in Shanghai at the Chinese premiere of the Disney film on May 22.
"Tomorrowland" is now playing in most countries around the world.
