'British Summer Time' is entering its third year. Not the timezone, in this case, but the annual rock-music event in London's Hyde Park. Following appearances by famed acts including Blur, the Who, Kylie Minogue, and The Strokes, it was Taylor Swift's turn to take the main stage over the weekend, performing their outdoor concert before a crowd of 65,000.

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has not only dominated the charts of late with her polished pop sound, but music-industry headlines as well.

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has not only dominated the charts of late with her polished pop sound, but music-industry headlines as well. Her public criticisms of tech giant Apple persuaded the company to reverse policy and pay artists during free trials of its new music-streaming service. That's a lot of power for one artist to have!

Swift had initially withheld her record-breaking album '1989' from Apple's service, but she was holding nothing back in her two-hour set on Saturday. She began with two songs from the album: 'Welcome to New York' and 'New Romantics'.

"We came from Sweden to see Taylor because we're so big fans of her and she has such a big impact on our lives, and she means so much to me," said one teenage fan.

"This is such an amazing time because we're so close to the stage and I'm shaking so hard and this is like, yeah, it's the best day ever and it hasn't even begun. She hasn't even begun," said another fan.

Swift was supported on the night by her friend, the British multi-platinum singer Ellie Goulding. John Newman also played on the night, with songs 'Blame', and 'Cheating' taken from his 2013 album 'Tribute'. Newman is currently promoting his lead single 'Come and Get It'.

The Barclaycard British Summer Time concert series ended on Sunday with a family day, rounding off the event in kid-friendly style.
