Changing one's name to that of a fictional character? Now that's devotion! But Mexican lawyer Menahem Asher Silva Vargas has done just that with his 'Asher Potter' museum. He has spent 15 years collecting memorabilia related to the boy wizard Harry Potter, but now he realizes it's time to share his treasures with the world.

Harry Potter had to get past the three-headed dog 'Fluffy' to find the 'Philosopher's Stone', but you only have to enter the doors of this museum! It's officially the world's largest collection of Harry-Potter items - about four-thousand pieces in all, with everything from wands to brooms to dragons.
"I was looking for a venue where I'd keep the objects that I loved so much, and I realized I hadn't kept any records of what I had exactly. So the collection lost its purpose, it was dying in my hands," Menahem Asher Silva Vargas said.
Vargas jokes that his obsession with the world of Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and Platform Nine and Three-Quarters is a curse as well as a blessing, as his salary and bonuses ended up funding his collection. But with Harry-Potter items selling for thousands of dollars on Ebay nowadays, he made a good investment. In the meantime, the museum is drawing fans.
"I think they did a great job with this museum customizing it with the characteristics of the Harry Potter books and films. I have not read all the books but I've seen the movies and I loved them, and so I think this museum is great," said Monserrat Aparicio Hernandez, the visitor.
"The House of Asher Potter" opened to the public in Mexico City last weekend. And you don't even need a secret password to get in!
