Along with its seaside scenery, pleasant climate, and oolong tea culture, China's southeastern port city of Xiamen can now boast the title "City of Fashion". It has just hosted a fashion event lasting four days and featuring 20 catwalk shows.

The fashion spectacle proved a major draw for celebrities, including South Korean pop icon Rain, Belgian fashion entrepreneur Anne Chapelle, Japanese designer Masayuki Kurokawa, and Chinese designer Huang Yongsong.
Among the 20 runway shows of Xiamen's Fashion Week was the 'Aimer' underwear label, appropriate perhaps for a city of seaside pleasures in which the "creative cultural industry", as it is called, ranks only behind Finance in revenue generation.
The city is home to well-known domestic fashion brands such as Seven Wolves, Ports, Joe One, and Jorya.
Meanwhile, Xiamen's shopping centers boast A-list luxury brands such as LV and Gucci.
Dubbed the "Garden by the Sea" and praised by foreign media as the "Antwerp of the East", Xiamen is becoming fashionable ... in every sense of the word.
