China tops medal standings on Day 3

China has extended its lead at the top of the Paralympic Games medal table, winning a total of 69: 26 gold, 24 silver, and 19 bronze. In the pool, Xu Qing claimed his third gold in Rio in the men's 50-meter freestyle S6 final, bringing his total gold medals to 10 at three Games.

The women's swimming team also performed well, adding another two golds for China. Peng Qiuping smashed her own world record in the 50-meter backstroke S3, setting a new world record of 48.49 seconds. And teenager Xu Xihan beat her Norwegian rival in the 50-meter butterfly S5.

Another gold for China came in the women's shot put. Yang Liwan secured her third Paralympic gold medal, with a best throw of 7.89 meters. In judo, 40-year-old Yuan Yanping claimed her third straight Paralympic gold in the over-70 kilogram division by defeating her Uzbekistan rival.
