The NBA has officially started with the defending champions, the Cleveland Cavaliers hosting the New York Knicks.

The Cavs big three of Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love looked to start the franchises first title defence on the right foot when they welcomed Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose to the Quicken Loans Arena where the city of Cleveland and it's fans are still looking to shed their long-standing losing reputation.

And the Cavs would get it done in fine style, rolling to a comfortable 117-88 victory. Irving poured in a game high 29 points while Love chipped in 23. Lebron had a triple double with 19 points, 14 assists, and 11 rebounds. That's why they call him the King.

Two other games in the schedule with the Portland Trailblazers hosting the Utah Jazz and last year's runners-up, Golden State Warrios at home to the Tim Duncan less San Antonio Spurs.
