Donald Trump has won the 45th US presidential election. Trump passed the threshold of 270 out of the total 538 electoral votes, beating Democrat rival, Hillary Clinton.

In a nail-biting contest throughout the night, Trump was able to pull a winning margin in many of the crucial swing states, including Florida, Ohio and North Carolina, and snatch previously democratic-leaning states like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Trump made a speech at his election night rally in Manhattan after his win was announced.
