A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met here on Monday with Cyril Ramaphosa, former general-secretary of South Africa's ruling party African National Congress (ANC).

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, spoke highly of China-South Africa relations.

The in-depth exchanges between the CPC and ANC on governance are not only conducive to their own party building, but also to consolidating the political basis of the relations of the two countries, Wang said.

Cyril Ramaphosa, who is also a member of the national executive committee of the ANC, expressed the appreciation of the great achievements of the CPC over the past 60 years and the hope to learn CPC's experience through this visit to China.
