Two explosions struck a busy market in a town in south of Baghdad on Thursday, killing a civilian and wounding 30 others, a local police source said.

The two blast took place in a quick succession in a popular market in the town of Messayab, some 60 km south of Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The blasts damaged many nearby shops and stalls and caused damages to the surrounding buildings, the source said.

Earlier, the police reported another explosion in the day when a car bomb went off during the morning rush hour at a parking-lot in the town of Yousifiyah, some 25 km south of Baghdad, killing a civilian and wounding ten others.

The two towns are part of once restive area, dubbed Triangle of Death, which is a cluster of towns scattered north of Hilla City, the capital of Babel province, some 100 km south of Baghdad.
