One people was dead, five others were injured in an explosion in South Korea's state- run Agency for Defense Development located in Pochon, Gyeonggi Province, at around 11:38 a.m. local time (0238 GMT) Thursday, emergency authorities said.
The incident came as they conducted an explosion experiment at the institute's shooting site, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said.
According to a report by the NEMA, the explosion caused one death, two severe injuries, while the remaining three were lightly wounded.
The wounded were moved to a nearby hospital in Yoncheon, the NEMA said, adding that police and firefighters are looking into the cause of the explosion.
