The African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) Wednesday rejected the accusations made by the Sudanese Armed Forces that the mission was in collaboration with the Darfur rebel Justice and Equality Movement (JEM).
In an accusation on Monday, a spokesman of the Sudan Armed Forces said the UNAMID supplied JEM rebels with six Hino ZY trucks loaded with food.
The peacekeeping mission said in a statement that "the UNAMID has never and will never collaborate in any form with any parties leading to the conflict in Darfur."
"The mission does not and shall not deviate from its responsibility and mandated obligation to serve as an impartial and honest broker in the peace process," according to the statement.
It noted that "these unfounded allegations will not negatively affect the good cooperation between the mission and the Sudanese government."
