The United States said Wednesday that it would not block Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's application for a visa to attend the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference next week in New York.
"We have certain responsibilities as the host of the United Nations. Any foreign officials who's coming to the UN for official business is normally granted a visa," State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters when asked whether Washington would grant a visa to the Iranian president.
