Australian Labor Party has an election-winning lead going into the first full day of election campaigning for the August 21 federal poll, data showed on July 18, 2010.
A Galaxy opinion poll, published in News Ltd newspapers on Sunday, showed Labor maintaining a two-party preferred lead, 52-48 percent, over the Tony Abbott-led Coalition.
But there has been a worrying sign for Labor. Its primary vote support has dropped two points to 39 percent.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard is in Brisbane on Sunday while opposition leader Tony Abbott returned to his home city of Sydney after attending the annual conference of the Liberal National Party in Queensland.
Gillard has made it clear that Labor's election pitch will focus on "moving forward".
Galaxy CEO David Briggs said the latest poll made it "very difficult" for the coalition to win the election.
