U.S. President Barack Obama Thursday left the White House for a 10-day vacation at Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
Obama left the capital Thursday noon aboard the Air Force One, with senior aide Valerie Jarrett, deputy spokesman Bill Burton, and national security adviser John Brennan.
Obama didn't leave with wife Michele. Mrs. Obama is traveling separately with her daughter Sasha after picking up another first daughter Malia from summer camp.
"Just like a lot of American people, the president is taking a little time with his family to recharge his batteries," Burton told reporters about the trip.
Obama also vacationed last summer at Martha's Vineyard.
