California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was leading a U.S. business delegation for a Russia visit, exchanged tweets with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Sunday upon his arrival.

"Just landed in Moscow. Beautiful day. Can't wait to see Pres Medvedev @KremlinRussia_e," wrote the U.S. governor on his Twitter account.

"@Schwarzenegger, welcome to Moscow. Looking forward to meeting you and your delegation at @skolkovo," as responded by Medvedev on his micro-blog.

The two also started following each other on Twitter, reported the RIA Novosti news agency.

The American delegates comprising venture capitalists and executives of innovation companies, will visit Russia's future " Silicon Valley" in Skolkovo outside Moscow.

Medvedev, who made developing hi-tech sector and encouraging innovative research the focal point of his economic agenda, met with Schwarzenegger when paying a visit to the original Silicon Valley in the summer.
