The death toll from heavy flooding nationwide since last week rose to 140, government report said on Friday.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation released a report of the death toll from the flooding in the North, Northeast, Central and East and South since Oct. 10.
In the North, Northeast, Central, the death toll was 110. As amny as 107 of those were Thais, and the other three were from Cambodia, Myanmar and the Netherlands.
Regarding the North, Northeast and Central provinces, 1.69 million people in 94 districts of 19 provinces were still affected by the disaster and 6.31 million rail of agricultural land were damaged.
In the South, 30 people died from flooding from Nov. 1 to 4.
Thirteen of those were from Songkhla and four others were from Surat Thani.
A depression landed on many provinces in the Southern Thailand at about 02:00 a.m. local time on Monday. Flash floods later hit the provinces on Tuesday morning.
