An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale struck off the Pacific island country of Vanuatu on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The quake, which occurred at 05:54 p.m. Vanauta local time (06: 54 GMT), was centered 215 km south of Port Vila, capital city of Vanuatu, and at a depth of 31 km.
There were no reports of casualties or damage so far.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii has not issued a tsunami warning.
