Ten people have been arrested in Australia's flood-hit Queensland after allegedly being caught looting from flood-affected homes, boats and businesses, police said on Friday.
Police Commissioner Bob Atkinson on Friday said most arrests had been made because of information provided by members of the public.
In the latest incident, water police intercepted two men and a woman in a dinghy on Friday morning while conducting a looting patrol along the Brisbane River.
It's alleged the trio had goods stolen from other moored vessels.
The maximum penalty for stealing by looting is 10 years' jail.
All three briefly appeared in the Wynnum Magistrates Court in Brisbane on Friday and will re-appear on January 24.
The trio takes the total number of arrests for flood-related looting in Queensland to 10.
