A blast in a cafe killed four people in Russia's Northern Caucasus republic of Dagestan, and wounded at least five others, local media reported on Friday.
According to Interfax news agency, the cafe, located in the town of Khasavurt, was rocked by a car bomb explosion. Local police officers said the bomb was planted in a Lada car parked near the cafe.
The wounded people were hospitalized instantly, some of them in serious conditions, local media said.
Violence is common for Russia's North Caucasus republics of Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia with militants frequently assaulting police officers and authorities.
Moscow has vowed to bring stability to the region by improving social services and raising pensions and salaries.
