Indonesia's Mount Bromo in East Java province keeps increasing its volcanic activities by splashing lava to 200 meter-high, Inilah.com online news reported on Thursday.
Due to the eruption, many volcanic materials such as ashes, sands and rocks were ejected to around its crater.
Bromo's ashes covered Lumajang city that located around the mountain due to strong wind blow.
The Center of Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation declared Bromo's status as high alert.
Residents are urged to wear masked and glasses as the ashes could pose danger to eyes and respiratory system.
Suarasurabaya.net online news reported that the volcanic ashes also interrupted international flight schedules and routes, forcing several redirections and cancellations.
Several planes belong to Jet Star, Virgin Blue and Cathay Pacific heading Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar of Bali province redirected their routes. Besides, several foreign air transportation operators have to cancel their flight schedule from Bali.
Bambang S. Ervan, spokesperson at the Transportation Ministry said that due to security concern, his ministry has issued advisory to airlines.
However, there is no any plan to temporary close the airport.
