An earthquake with magnitude of 5. 5 jolted Sumatra island in western parts of Indonesia on Monday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here.
The quake struck at 11 : 15 a.m. Jakarta time (0415 GMT) with epicenter at 93 km southwest Padangsidempuan of North Sumatra, and with the depth at 67 km, the agency said.
The USGS reported at its website that the quake was also at 5.3 magnitude.
