6.2-magnitude quake hits Tarapaca, Chile

An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted Tarapaca, Chile, at about 1231 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 87.80 km, was initially determined to be at 18.1084 degrees south latitude and 69.3758 degrees west longitude.

No immediate reports of casualties and damage.
