5.8-magnitude earthquake jolts off central Japan

An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, central Japan Saturday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake occurred at 7:51 a.m. local time (2251 GMT Friday), with the epicenter at a depth of 25 km. So far, there has been no reports of casualties or damage.
