Most Slovaks are satisfied with the decision to adopt the common European currency, but their assessment is 12 percentage points less positive than it was a year ago, according to the results of a poll released Monday.
The opinion poll was carried out by Focus agency on a sample of 1,022 respondents at the beginning of February.
The adoption of the euro is viewed most positively by people aged 18-24, business people, experts and clerks, people from the capital Bratislava and those earning higher salaries.
Conversely, those most likely to complain were people over 55, pensioners, and people who do not take part in elections and households with low incomes.
Slovakia became the 16th member of the euro zone on January 1, 2009.
