Chen Changzhi, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress will visit Costa Rica from March 24 to 27 as the special envoy of Chinese President Hu Jintao.

Chen was invited by Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu at a regular news briefing here Tuesday.

During his stay in the Central American nation, Chen will attend a handover ceremony of the Costa Rican National Stadium, which was aided and built by China.
