Israeli war jets struck on Friday the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis, killing three Palestinians, medics and witnesses said.
Adham Abu Selmeya, spokesman of the Hamas government's medical services told reporters that an Israeli missile was fired at an area near a mosque east of Khan Younis, where one Palestinian was killed and six wounded.
He said among the six wounded, a mother and her daughter, who were in critical conditions, died shortly after they were taken to Nasser Hospital in the city.
Witnesses in the area of Faraheen, east of Khan Younis, said that an Israeli missile was fired at a Hamas militant who was about to get into a mosque in the area, and that several civilian bystanders were injured.
Earlier on Friday, two Hamas militants were killed in an Israeli airstrike also east of Khan Younis, according to Abu Selmeya who added that three people were injured.
"In the last 24 hours, ten people were killed and 45 wounded in the intensive Israeli airstrikes and tanks shelling on the Gaza Strip," said Abu Selmeya.
