The Brazilian government published on Friday in its official journal the United Nations Security Council resolution which imposes sanctions on Libya.
Brazil voted for the Security Council resolution. By publishing the document in the journal, Brazil must officially start to follow them, as the country is one of the Security Council members.
Brazil is currently one of the council's temporary members and has been campaigning for a permanent seat for the past years.
By the terms of the document, Brazil commits to not selling any weapons, ammunition or armored vehicles to Libya, or providing them to the country in any other manner.
The Brazilian government also commits to not allowing the entrance of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and other 15 people linked to him into the country's territory.
The resolution also foresees that the Libyan situation is taken to the International Court.
