Yemeni Deputy Minister of Religious Endowments and Guidance Mohammed Yahya Al-Fusil, who had been seriously injured in a blast attack on the Presidential Palace on June 3, died on Saturday in a military hospital in Saudi Arabia.
"Mohamed Al-Fusil, the Religious Endowment and Guidance deputy minister, died on Saturday night in Saudi Arabia while receiving treatment," Shahab Al-Deen Al-Mohamdy, the head of information and culture sector of the ministry told Xinhua.
Al-Fusil was sent to Saudi Arabia along with Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, Prime Minister Ali Mujawar, deputy Prime Minister Rashid al-Alami and Parliament Speaker Yahya al-Raiee, to receive treatment for wounds they sustained in the bomb attack on the presidential compound's mosque.
The Yemeni officials said that Saleh's heath condition is improving and he will be back in a few days, while some Saudi official and the opposition said Saleh will not show up before the public as he was badly burned.
