At least two Pakistani soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb attack on a convoy of the security forces in North Waziristan tribal region on Tuesday, correspondents in the region said.
The bomb exploded as an army convoy was heading to Datta Khel area, some 45 kilometers from Miranshah, center of North Waziristan,they said.
Nine other soldiers were injured and a vehicle completely destroyed.
The incident happened at a time when the authorities had clamped curfew in the area in view of the troops' movement.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
The main Taliban group led by Hafiz Gul Bahadar has a peace deal with the security forces and denied involvement.
Security official say that several other militant groups including Hakimullah Mehsood group of Taliban and elements from Punjabi Taliban are active in the region.
Residents said that the security forces opened fire after the bomb attack but there was no report of any casualty of the militants.
