The second explosion rocked Kunduz city on Tuesday morning but security forces have brought the situation under control after killing three suicide bombers, spokesman for Provincial Administration Mahboubullah Sayedi said.
"A suicide bomber blew himself up next to a private company namely Cabora office followed by gun shoots and security forces responded properly and have brought the situation under control," Sayedi told newsmen.
The attack began at around 5 a.m. local time and was brought under control after some 90 minutes of counter-attack by security forces, he further said.
During the blasts and gun battle, seven people including three suicide bombers, one police and three bodyguards of Cabora office were killed and four more guards sustained injuries, Sayedi further said.
However, he stated that search operation is continuing to locate and eliminate if any suicide bomber is hiding in the area.
He put the attack on the enemies of peace, a term used by Afghan officials against Taliban militants, but the outfit has yet to make comment.
