The royal endorsement of Yingluck Shinawatra as prime minister will take place Monday afternoon.

House Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont said Office of His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary informed him that he should attend the audience with the King at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Yingluck, the election champion Pheu Thai's top list MP, was elected by the lower House Friday morning to become the country's first female PM.

Somsak said after attending the audience with His Majesty and receiving the royal command Monday evening, the House of Representatives' secretary-general will deliver it to the Pheu Thai head office, where Yingluck will formally accept the premiership.
