A small plane crash ignited growing brush fire on a rural California mountain community on Sunday morning, the Associated Press reported.
Two persons on board were killed after a single-engine Cessna 210, which can carry six people, crashed in an area of Black Canyon of Tehachapi, in the Kern County.
The blaze spread to 3,500 acres (nearly 5 1/2 square miles) amid dry, hot and windy weather conditions.
About 600 firefighters equipped with 11 air tankers were sent to fight the blaze.
Authorities have issued an evacuation order for 30 homes threatened by the fire.
