A passenger was found alive Friday in the Amazon jungle three days after a small plane crashed, killing the other eight people on board, Bolivian authorities said.
Rescuers found Minor Vidal suffering head and rib injuries but was out of danger.
The Aerocon plane carried seven passengers, including two Colombian nationals, and two crew members when it disappeared Tuesday night. The wreckage was detected some 10 km northeast of Trinidad, capital of the northern province of Beni.
Rescuers soon recovered eight bodies at the accident site. Vidal, the ninth passenger, was considered missing and with few possibilities to survive.
Vidal said he was expelled from the airplane at the moment of the accident, and then walked several kilometers looking for help. He said he saw a rescue boat, and began waving his shirt and shouting to catch the crew members' attention.
The survivor was taken to a local hospital. He is 35 years old and also a father of two daughters.
Bolivian Defense Minister Cecilia Chacon said the rescue was a "real miracle".
