Thai flood death toll rises to 553

At least 553 people were confirmed dead and two people were missing as the floods have ravaged the country for over three months, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department reported on Thursday.

Central province of Ayutthaya has the higest death toll of 90 people, following by central province of Nakhon Sawan where 62 people were killed by flood.

Floods caused by the heavy monsoon rain still prevail in 24 of 77 provinces, affecting about 2.8 million people.
