China has called on relevant parties in Syria to put an immediate end to violence in the country.

China has paid close attention to the current situation in Syria, and has called on the international community to play a constructive role in creating conditions to ease the situation in Syria, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Weimin said Monday at a daily press briefing.

The Arab League rejected Syria's proposed modifications to the mission of a 500-member delegation to visit the country, saying on Sunday that the proposed modifications made "drastic changes" to the observers' mission.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said that Syria will not bow down, and it will continue to resist the pressure being imposed on it.
