Hundreds of Syrians living in Amman tried on Sunday to storm their country's embassy in the Jordanian capital Amman.

The attempted raid was staged in protest of some embassy staff' s violence against five Syrians who entered the embassy to issue some documents while wearing the flags of the anti-Syrian government forces, witnessed said.

But the Jordanian security personnel, who were heavily deployed around the Syrian embassy, intervened to prevent the crowds from storming the embassy.

In a sit-in in front of the embassy in Amman during the day, the Syrian demonstrators called for closing their country's embassy in Amman, and urged the Jordanian government to expel the Syrian ambassador.

Several protests have taken place near the Syrian embassy in Jordan since the unrest broke out in Syria earlier this year against the rule of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
